It started with a taste — the unmistakable flavor of a Kalamata olive, picked straight from the tree under the Greek sun. That single moment sparked a vision: to bring the authentic taste of Greece to Romania, preserving every drop of quality along the way.
Growing up between Greece and Romania, our founder understood something most importers don't — that olive oil isn't just a product, it's a culture. It's the grandmother hand-picking olives at dawn. It's the stone mill that's been pressing for generations. It's the land itself, sun-scorched and wind-swept, that gives each olive its character.
In 2003, armed with deep connections in Greece's most prestigious olive-growing regions — Kalamata, Halkidiki, Crete — Aspis Food was born. Not as a business, but as a promise: that every product crossing the border would be something he'd proudly serve at his own table.
